As the US and Russia get ready for peace negotiations with Ukraine, Zelensky lands in the UAE.
Ahead of scheduled US-Russian negotiations in Saudi Arabia in the coming days, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in the United Arab Emirates on Sunday for an official visit. Throughout the war, the UAE has played a significant role as a mediator between Moscow and Kyiv.
Ahead of the anticipated meeting between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Sunday that he had arrived in the United Arab Emirates for a visit with a “large humanitarian program.”
Zelensky shared a video of himself speaking with officials after stepping off the plane in the United Arab Emirates.
“A formal trip to the United Arab Emirates with the First Lady, According to Zelensky on Telegram.
“Bringing even more of our folks home from captivity is the top priority. as well as financial collaboration and investment. a significant humanitarian initiative,” he continued.
He said this week that he would be travelling to the nation in the next few days, along with Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
He stated on Friday, however, that he had no intention of meeting with US or Russian officials there.
With Europe and Kyiv concerned that they may attempt to resolve the three-year conflict in Ukraine without their presence, Moscow and Washington are getting ready for a summit between their two leaders.
Throughout the conflict, the UAE has played a significant role as a mediator between Russia and Ukraine, assisting with prisoner exchanges and the repatriation of Ukrainian children from Russia.
